The short version
1Why this policy exists
Every Mailivy user shares the reputation of our mail servers. When one account sends spam, messages from everyone else become more likely to land in junk folders. This Acceptable Use Policy sets out what you may not do with Mailivy and forms part of our Terms of Service. It applies to every account, alias and custom domain, on every plan.
2Sending limits
| Plan | Messages per day | Largest attachment |
|---|---|---|
| Free | 500 | 25 MB |
| Plus | 2,000 | 50 MB |
| Business | 10,000 per user | 100 MB |
A message sent to several people counts once for each recipient. Mailivy isn’t built for bulk marketing; if you send newsletters or campaigns, please use a dedicated newsletter service with proper unsubscribe handling.
Don’t try to get around these limits, for example by spreading sending across several accounts or aliases.
3Unsolicited and bulk mail
- Don’t send unsolicited commercial email, or email purchased, rented or harvested address lists.
- Don’t send chain letters or mass messages to people who haven’t agreed to receive them.
- When someone asks you to stop emailing them, stop promptly.
- Don’t use Mailivy addresses in the “From” or “Reply-to” fields of spam sent through other services.
4Prohibited content
You may not use Mailivy to send, store or share:
- malware, viruses, ransomware or any other harmful code;
- phishing messages, or content designed to obtain passwords, payment details or other personal data by deception;
- content that sexually exploits or endangers children, which we report to the authorities;
- threats, harassment, or content that incites violence or hatred against people because of who they are;
- material that infringes other people’s copyright, trademarks or other rights;
- fraudulent offers, scams or deceptive financial schemes.
5Impersonation and deception
- Don’t impersonate another person, brand or organisation, or create addresses or aliases designed to mislead recipients.
- Don’t forge message headers or otherwise hide where a message comes from.
- Don’t connect a domain you don’t own or aren’t authorised to use.
6Protecting the service
- Don’t try to access other users’ accounts or data, or share your credentials so that others can.
- Don’t probe, scan or test our systems for vulnerabilities outside our bug bounty programme. Report security issues to security@mailivy.com.
- Don’t overload our infrastructure, create accounts by automated means or scrape the Service.
- Don’t resell, sublicense or offer access to Mailivy as part of another service without our written agreement.
7How we enforce this policy
When we find a violation, we take proportionate action, such as limiting sending, pausing an alias or custom domain, suspending the account or, for serious or repeated violations, closing it. We choose the least disruptive step that stops the harm.
Except in urgent cases, such as active phishing, malware or a compromised account, we’ll tell you what happened and give you a chance to respond before we act. We report illegal content to the authorities where the law requires it.
You can appeal any decision by writing to abuse@mailivy.com within 30 days. Someone who wasn’t involved in the original decision will review it, and we’ll reply within 5 working days.
8Reporting abuse
To report spam, phishing or other abuse sent from a Mailivy address, forward the message as an attachment, with full headers, to abuse@mailivy.com. We review every report and never share your identity with the account holder.
To report a security vulnerability, write to security@mailivy.com.
9Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as new kinds of abuse appear. For material changes, we’ll email you at least 30 days in advance, as described in our Terms of Service.
