The questions people ask us most this month.
An alias forwards to your main inbox and can be switched off at any time, so it’s ideal for shops, newsletters and sign-up forms. A second address is a separate identity with its own name and signature that you can send from. Plus includes 15 aliases; Business includes unlimited aliases and addresses.
Go to Settings → Identity. Your display name is what recipients see next to your address, so use the name people know you by. Signatures can be set per address and per device, which means your phone can sign off shorter than your laptop.
Go to Settings → Import, choose Gmail and sign in with Google. We copy messages, labels (as folders) and contacts in the background, so you can close the tab. Large mailboxes can take a few hours; we’ll email you when it’s finished.
Open the Screener, switch to the Blocked tab, find the sender and choose Allow. Future messages go straight to your inbox. Anything they sent while blocked is kept for 30 days, and the sender is never told.
Open Settings → Security → Passkeys and choose Add passkey. Your device asks for Face ID, Touch ID, Windows Hello or a security key. Once it’s added, you sign in with a glance or a touch instead of your password. Passkeys are free on every plan.
Choose Forgot password on the sign-in screen and we send a reset link to your recovery email. Because your mail is encrypted with your password, you’ll also need your recovery phrase to read older messages. Without it, you regain your account and new mail, but older messages stay locked.
Yearly plans cancelled within 30 days of purchase are refunded in full. After that, you keep Plus until the end of the period you’ve paid for and aren’t charged again.
Yes. Turn on IMAP in Settings → Apps, create an app password, and use imap.mailivy.com (port 993) and smtp.mailivy.com (port 465). Your folders, including Updates, Receipts and Newsletters, appear in your mail app as normal folders.
